Here's something you don't see every day: Soaked football pitch in Slovenia "dried" with towels

It sounds like it couldn't possibly be, but it happened...

Comical scenes could be seen in Slovenia, before the Conference League football match between Olimpija and Lille in Ljubljana.

Namely, the pitch of the Stozice stadium was completely soaked due to heavy precipitation, so organizers had to resort to alternative solutions.

However, no one expected them to do it this way.

Not only does it sound incredible that they did, but how come they even thought of it. Nevertheless, they set out to dry the pitch with none other than - bathroom towels.

They brought a large number of towels to the pitch, and then soaked them with water, squeezed them next to the pitch, rinse and repeat, over and over again.

It is clear that this incredible idea did not help much, as both teams eventually had to play in truly "swamp" conditions.
