Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) today submitted a new request to US Department of the Treasury to issue a special license that postpones the full implementation of sanctions imposed against this company.

The goal is to enable NIS to operate smoothly after April 28, which is the deadline stipulated in the license issued on March 28.

As announced by the company, in the coming period, despite the complex circumstances, NIS will remain committed to maintaining a stable supply of the domestic market with all types of oil derivatives and preserving the social stability of its employees.

"The public will be informed in a timely manner about any new circumstances that may affect the business," a statement said.

NIS recalled that it on March 14 submitted a request to the US Treasury asking for its removal from the SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) list, and, as stated, this can be a process that takes a long time.
