Vucevic: Elections in Kosjeric and Zajecar difficult due to atmosphere in society, I believe in SNS victory
Leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Milos Vucevic said today that the upcoming local elections in Kosjeric and Zajecar will be very difficult due to the atmosphere in society, but that he believes that the SNS electoral list will win.
"For us, the only thing that will be relevant is what the citizens in these two local governments will say. We still have about ten days until the elections, and in the following days I will go to Zajecar and Kosjeric," Vucevic told TV Prva.
He pointed out that the elections are being held in undemocratic conditions, recalling that President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabic encountered an unpleasant situation during her visit to Kosjeric.
"And a tycoon television station wanted to burst into our event, to provoke us. I'm almost sure that if they lose, they will talk about how they were robbed. For Kosjeric, they are calling on all the activists from Cacak, Pozega, to put pressure in this way, to make people feel uneasy about going to the polls. That's their template," said Vucevic.
He recalled that the students participating in blockades initially sent messages that they were not interested in politics, but now they are talking about elections.
"I am not sure that there is the right social atmosphere to hold elections in. If we have elections in an atmosphere where our party premises get attacked, where someone gives themselves the right (to decide) whether someone can or cannot not run, I do not see that we have democratic conditions," said Vucevic.
He pointed out that he is sure that "the blockader list" would declare victory after the closing of the polling stations, without waiting for the results.
"If the Election Commission announced official results, if the results were the opposite of what they declared, they would say the vote was rigged and would have the fuel for an 'October 6'. They need elections to prove that it is impossible to achieve a democratic victory here, but through the streets," stated Vucevic.
