A.H. is suspected of involvement in human trafficking.
"It is suspected that, since the beginning of this year, he has been forcing a 26-year-old man to work on his property, taking advantage of his difficult circumstances," a statement reads.
It is also suspected that A.H. used threats to force the victim to commit timber theft in the woods owned by the Public Enterprise Vojvodina Sume.
The Higher Court in Subotica issued an order to keep the suspect detained for up to 30 days.
