The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) has sent a request to the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), asking for a new postponement of that country's sanctions imposed against NIS, Tanjug has learned.

At the end of July, the US Treasury Department issued another special license that delayed the enforcement of full-scale sanctions against NIS and enabled the company to carry out its operational activities unhindered until August 27.
That was the fifth delay of the full implementation of US sanctions, imposed against NIS because of Russia's ownership stake in the company.
