64TH THE VICTIM OF NORTH MACEDONIA TRAGEDY: Musician injured in Kocani "nightclub of death" dies
After a long and difficult battle with injuries sustained during a nightclub fire in Kocani, North Macedonia, Vladimir "Pancho" Blazev, the leader of the band DNA that was performing at the venue on the fateful night, died today in a private clinic, where he was treated for more than six months, the Macedonian portal Vistina is reporting.
According to unofficial information, in the last weeks, especially the last days, he was fighting a severe bacterial infection that was life-threatening. Doctors and medical staff could not save his life.
Unfortunately, the tragedy in Kocani has claimed another, 64th victim (along with a detained police officer). Another Macedonian musical legend has passed away, a man whose music was a part of everyday life, memories and emotions, the website said.
Pancho was born on July 29, 1979 in Skopje. He left behind two sons, Andrej and Marjan.
He was also known as a great humanitarian, who together with Andrej over the years helped numerous families and people in need of assistance.
"May he rest in peace, with eternal gratitude for everything he left behind - as a musician and author, and as a man," concludes Vistina.
