Edi Rama makes fun of Montenegro again, video is also circulating
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama once again mocked Montenegro and Greece, this time during a panel discussion held as part of the summit in the United Arab Emirates.
"As a Greek, you always underestimate people because you think that you have a monopoly on philosophy and that you are the heirs of Plato and Aristotle, but you are not," said Rama.
Speaking about Montenegro, Rama ironically added:
"Montenegro is the greatest country and the biggest country in our region, they have 50 million citizens (in reality, Montenegro has 620,000 people). We are a small country, Serbia is a bit bigger, but Montenegro is the one," said Rama.
Rama spoke similarly during a panel within the Berlin Process in London at the end of October last year, in which he participated with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic.
While Spajic was speaking, Rama often interrupted him by saying that Montenegro has two words, "black and mountain", and when the Montenegrin prime minister was explaining how old Montenegro is, and that it regained its independence in 2006, Rama again cut in to say that Montenegro is "older than Greece and Serbia."
For some, Rama was only joking at the time, some interpreted the Albanian prime minister's remarks as "mocking" at the expense of Montenegro, while the video on the X platform was described as. "tensions between two prime ministers" during a joint panel.
