Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrived today at a reception organized by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in the United Nations building in New York in honor of the heads of delegations, before the start of the UN General Assembly general debate this year.

Around 130 heads of state and government will personally attend and deliver their message to the world, while world leaders will also discuss global challenges and priorities under the theme "Rebuilding Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All".
President Vucic will participate in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and will address the participants on Wednesday, September 23, and during his stay in New York he will have bilateral meetings with numerous world leaders and representatives of the international community.
Presiding over the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, which began on September 8, is Khalilur Rahman of Bangladesh, the new president of the UN General Assembly who was elected to the post in June.
Today he will open the general debate and address the participants, and before that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres will present a report on the work of the organization.
Brazil, according to a tradition that dates back to the 10th session of the General Assembly in 1955, is the first member state whose representative speaks during the general debate, except in 1983 and 1984, and tomorrow it will be President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The United States, as the country on whose soil the UN HQ is located, is the second member state whose representative, this time President Donald Trump, will address the audience.
The order for other countries is determined according to the level of representation and other criteria, including geographical distribution, it is stated on the UN website.
