Vucic: Deficit nearly four times smaller than planned

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that the budget deficit stood at RSD 5.2 billion in May, instead of the expected RSD 19 billion, which is nearly four times smaller than the amount “that even the IMF would be content with”

During his visit to the Vrsac-based Hemofarm pharmaceutical company and its new ampoule production plant worth EUR 4.37 million, which is planned to employ 50 people, Vucic said that Serbia's budget deficit totaled RSD 24.5 billion over the first five months of 2015, while the plan was RSD 91 billion.

“I think that this is enough to show how good the results are. We now have more room in the fiscal plan both for capital investment and for an increase in incomes in the coming period, but we will discuss that with our friends in the international financial organizations,” said Vucic.
