During today's vote in the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) he with 33 votes defeated Russian candidate Alexei Kondratiev, who received six.

The decision to appoint a rapporteur for Kosovo will also go through other mechanisms of the Council, but today's vote is considered the most important step, while an official announcement will be made today.

In addition to the German representative, other candidates included Dutch Representative Anne Mulder, as well as Kondratiev, who has been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since June 2019.
