The Higher Court in Kragujevac has put Eric Lammers, 60, who is wanted by Belgium on suspicion of having committed several crimes against sexual freedoms, into extradition detention.

Lammers was arrested by the police in Kragujevac on October 7, on an Interpol notice issued by Belgium, the spokesperson of the Higher Court in Kragujevac, Ivana Obradovic, specified for Tanjug.

The judge for previous procedure of the Higher Court in Kragujevac ordered hims kept extradition detention for charges of several criminal acts against sexual freedoms, she noted.

She pointed out that Lammers appealed the decision on detention, but that his appeal was rejected by the criminal panel of the Higher Court in Kragujevac, and that the first-instance decision of the judge for previous procedure has been confirmed.

Eric's father Maurice Lammers has not been arrested, as some media reported; instead he is in Belgium.

The Ministry of Justice told Tanjug that Belgium's request for the extradition of Eric Lammers is expected.

Belgian media reported that Eric Lammers is a neo-Nazi and that he had been arrested in connection with various serious crimes.

He was arrested in Serbia before, in 2008, and his extradition to Belgium at that time took a year.
