Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic has convened a meeting of her cabinet for today at 5 pm, the daily Blic has learned, and reports that the focus will be on the definitive departure of Rio Tinto.

She will then address the media at 6 pm.

The prime minister said on Tuesday that Rio Tinto will no longer be in Serbia in a few weeks.

"What people in Serbia want is important to me. The permits issued to Rio Tinto will expire soon, we will cancel the spatial plan that included the Jadar project, and that's it. Rio Tinto is an inherited project and the current government has nothing to do with it," said the prime minister.

She stated that the former authorities made changes to the Law on Mining in 2006 by introducing continuity, i.e., allowing the entity given the right to explore the exclusive right to exploitation.
