The protest in front of the Republic Election Commissio (RIK) represents a scandalous desperate attempt of the opposition to cover up its convincing election defeat, the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, assessed last night.

In a statement to Tanjug, he said that, instead of congratulating the winners, "the losers want to cause chaos and riots, as had been announced before the elections."

"The victory of Aleksandar Vucic is convincing and huge, as well as the achieved results of the ruling coalition in the parliamentary and in city elections in Belgrade," Dacic pointed out.

He recalled that the opposition had 120,000 members and 120,000 deputy members in the expanded composition at all polling stations, as well as 8,000 members and 8,000 deputy members in the permanent composition, plus 8,000 and 8,000 deputy members on behalf of a presidential candidate who did not participate in the parliamentary elections.

"So, the opposition had 272,000 members and deputy members at polling stations who participated equally in all election activities, including ballot counting and determining results. Therefore, claims of election fraud are meaningless. The victory is clear and big," said Dacic.
