Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija have been protesting on the barricades for 14 days, demanding the release of their illegally arrested compatriots, the withdrawal of special forces of the Kosovo police from the north of the province and the canceling of secret lists for new arrests of Serbs.

In the vicinity of Banjska, members of a special police unit set up a check point for vehicles and passengers. There are several SUVs at the checkpoint, and the unit's members are armed with rifles, RTS said, citing a Tanjug report.
