Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic saw the newly acquired vehicles for the Serbian Army today, at the barracks in Pancevo named after People's Hero Stevica Jovanovic.

The vehicles are part of a model of equipping the Serbian Army with non-combat vehicles according to various capital projects, the implementation of which is planned until 2028, and within the current framework, the focus is on vehicles for transporting people, heavy duty vehicles, as well as special non-combat vehicles, the ministry said in a statement.

The head of the Directorate for Logistics (J-4) of the General Staff, General Major Srdjan Petkovic and Colonel Dragisa Zinaja from that administration presented the new vehicles, their characteristics and purpose to Minister Vucevic and General Mojsilovic.

The type of new vehicles presented were acquired for the first time for the needs of the units of the Serbian Army - quads, intended for transportation on all types of terrain.

These are the so-called "off-road" vehicles, which, and based on their technical characteristics, are capable of overcoming the most difficult terrains and surfaces, while the tracks enable movement in winter conditions on snow, where they will have a special purpose in search and rescue operations.

Also, among the vehicles that were shown today are those with a higher load capacity - tractors with cargo semi-trailers and modern cargo cars with loading ramps, a bus and fire engines for extinguishing all types of fires.

Today's tour was attended by the head of the Operational Directorate (J-3), General Major Tiosav Jankovic, the head of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Directorate (J-2), Brigadier General Dragan Arsenijevic, the heads of the cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Zarko Micin and Brigadier General Goran Momcilovic, and the head of the Cabinet of the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel Sladjan Hristov.
