78-year-old BMW driver from Nis who killed man at pedestrian crossing arrested

The Nis police, on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, arrested B.N. (78), with residence in the vicinity of this southern Serbian city, on suspicion that he committed a serious crime against the safety of public traffic.

"He is suspected of hitting a 60-year-old pedestrian while driving a BMW car last night, at the pedestrian crossing located at the intersection of Nikola Tesla Boulevard and Pantelejska Street.

The victim was transported to the University Clinical Center Nis, where he died of his injuries. The suspect is being detained for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before a senior public prosecutor in Nis along with a criminal complaint," the police announced.
