Scabies outbreak in Ivanjica: Large number of citizens of all ages infected

A large number cases of patients suffering from scabies have been confirmed in the municipality of Ivanjica, with people of all ages affected, but especially those in schools and kindergartens.

Dr. Milorad Dramicanin, an epidemiologist from the Ivanjica Health Center, stresses that isolation of the sick and simultaneous treatment of all household members are key to preventing the spread of infection.

Dermatovenerologist Sanja Djordjevic said that the infection can be completely eliminated with proper and timely treatment, while it is important to recognize symptoms such as intense itching and changes on the skin as soon as possible.
