Council for National Security: Chief of General Staff talks about document that makes our position difficult
The session of the Council for National Security, which started shortly after 11 am, ended just before 1 pm. Today's meeting in the Presidency building was chaired by President Aleksandar Vucic.
Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Milan Mojsilovic addressed the public after the meeting that lasted almost two hours. He started by presenting the conclusions and listed all the topics discussed today, behind closed doors, by the state leadership.
"The meeting lasted a while, we talked about the state of security in the region, the state of security in Kosovo and Metohija, and certain issues concerning guidelines and conclusions on how to proceed and what to do next. When we talk about issues related to security, the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Army informed us today about a document created by France and Germany, it is a non-paper that concerns the Serb Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina directly, and makes Serbia's position more difficult. The members of the extended the Council for National Security were informed about that document, guidelines were defined, and tasks were given regarding the direction and extent to which Serbia would address the above-mentioned issue.
We spoke a lot about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija. I am sure that you are also witnesses to the daily harassment not only of the Serb population, but in Kosovo and Metohija as a whole, and the application of unprecedented unilateral measures that directly threaten the lives and health of minorities by the provisional institutions in Pristina. This issue really deserved attention, not only the attention of the Council for National Security but also more broadly in terms of defining conclusions, directives and guidelines for further work. Regarding everything else, tasks related to the Serbian Army, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been defined," Mojsilovic said.
In addition to President Vucic, the session was attended by Serbian National Assembly President Ana Brnabic, Prime Minister Djuro Macut, Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic, Director of BIA Vladimir Orlic, Chief of the General Staff Milan Mojsilovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric, Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, and Minister of Justice Nenad Vujic.
