The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, has harshly criticized Minister of Internal Affairs of Pristina's provisional institutions Xhelal Svecla regarding his accusations against Serbia, stressing that Svecla is the last person who should lecture Serbia about minorities under threat.

"Serbia was and remains one of the most functional multi-ethnic states in Europe, and numerous ethnic minorities from Subotica to Bosilegrad can testify to that, while the last person who can lecture Serbia is a representative of the ideology that led to one of the largest-scale ethnic cleansings in modern history," Petkovic said, according to the Office.

The fact that Serbia is multi-ethnic bothers the likes of Svecla, who have a pathological fear of everything that does not fit into "their Great Albanian ideology," Petkovic said.

"To date, 212,000 internally displaced Serbs have not returned to Kosovo and Metohija, precisely because the southern Serbian province is poisoned by the virus of chauvinism and hatred, one of whose propagators is Svecla. We saw in the brutal attack by one of Svecla's fanatics on a Serbian high school gratudate in Kosovska Mitrovica, which principles his 'multi-ethnic police' uses, and this, unfortunately, is even more directly witnessed by the 20 percent of Serbs who were forced to leave Kosovo and Metohija encouraged by his concept of an open society," said Petkovic.

Self-proclaimed "Kosovo" is so open, Petkovic added, that everyone who does not support Kurti's and Svecla's politics of hatred can leave it.

"The ideology of which Svecla is a symbol was defeated in 1945, and the only place where it still shows signs of life is precisely that which is temporarily managed by the guardians and promoters of the Great Albanian idea," stated Petkovic.

Earlier, Svecla took to Facebook to repeat accusations that Serbia "discriminates against Albanians in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvesja, as well as carries out ethnic cleansing," stating, among other things, that "no Albanian has been accepted to the Serbian police" in the municipalities in that part of the country.
