Unheard of horror in Belgrade: Man stabs his wife, then attempts to castrate himself

An argument between common-law partners turned into a gruesome incident in a Belgrade apartment yesterday.

P.R. (48) first stabbed his wife M.L. (41) with a knife, and then seriously injured himself, Telegraf.rs has learned.

Namely, the verbal altercation culminated when the man grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman in the thigh. She managed to defend herself and escape from the apartment.

She then called the police and reported the assault.

During that time, the man, who stayed in the apartment, inflicted serious injuries to himself by first trying to cut his own throat and then his genitals with a knife.

The police and emergency services found him in the apartment. He was transported to the Military Medical Academy (VMA) and is in a stable condition.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

The prosecutor's office has been informed about the case and ordered that a criminal complaint to be filed against the man.
