Serbian FM Djuric reacts to attack in Manchester: Serbia stands unwaveringly against violence and hatred
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Djuric said on Thursday that he is appalled by a terrible attack on a synagogue in Manchester and that Serbia stands unwaveringly against violence, hatred and antisemitism in all its forms.
"Appalled by a horrific attack on a synagogue in Manchester, carried out during one of the holiest days of the Jewish faith. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims, to all those affected, the Jewish community in the United Kingdom and to my (UK) colleague Yvette Cooper," Djuric said in a post on X.
Djuric stressed that Serbia stands unwaveringly against violence, hatred and antisemitism in all its forms.
The Manchester police announced yesterday that at least two people were killed in a car and knife attack near a synagogue in that city, and that three other citizens were still at that time in serious condition.
The car and knife attack happened near the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Middleton Road in Manchester, during the observance of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.
