Glauk Konjufca receives mandate to form new government of fake state Kosovo
The president of so-called Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, announced last night that she is giving the mandate to form a new government to Glauk Konjufca, acting on a proposal made by the Self-Determination party!
"We have no other proposal except the one I received from the strongest party to entrust the mandate to Glauk Konjufca. I am giving the mandate to form the government to Konjufca, as the candidate for next prime minister," the president of the fake country told a press conference.
Vjosa added that "in line with the constitution and her competences, she consulted with parliamentary political parties in order to overcome the current situation."
She also stressed that "the constitution stipulates it is within her competence to entrust the mandate to another candidate if the first was unsuccessful in their attempt to secure a majority."
"The constitution is clear and obligates me to give the mandate to another candidate," explained Osmani.
Konjufca now has 15 days to propose his cabinet to the Assembly in Pristina.
"The constitution does not say the president can appoint (prime minister) but rather that they appoint the next candidate in case the first one fails to form a government. The wording used in the constitution is mandatory so it forces the president to entrust the mandate to another candidate," said Osmani, adding that her decision is also in line with three judgments made by the Constitutional Court.
Osmani said that members of the Assembly should now consider the formation of the government. She underlined that citizens have lost enough by the fact that institutions have not been created and that "the final verdict will be passed" by the 120 deputies.
"I have the responsibility as president to find the prevailing criteria for the formation of a new government in order to avoid (early) elections. Citizens have lost enough by the fact that institutions have not been formed. I think it is a matter of the general interest to have the institutions. We are talking about billions of euros that we cannot afford to lose," explained Osmani.
