Petroleum Industry of Serbia, NIS, submits new request to OFAC!
On November 18, Petroleum Industry of Serbia, NIS, submitted a new request to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department asking to be issued a special license that would allow the company to operate smoothly during negotiations about the change of its ownership structure.
The previous license, issued on November 14 and valid until February 13, 2026, allowed shareholders and interested parties to begin discussions about the future ownership of Petroleum Industry of Serbia.
NIS said that the new request was submitted in line with the current status of negotiations between shareholders and potential partners, with the aim of ensuring business continuity while looking for a "sustainable solution for NIS".
The company expects that the approval of a new license will enable a stable functioning of all operations during the period of intensive negotiations regarding its future.
