Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) football club will go into the new year with a new coach, as the club's management has agreed all terms with Dejan Stankovic, who has said YES - Telegraf has learned!
Stankovic was recently fired by Spartak Moscow. He was previously the head coach of Red Star from 2019 until 2022, winning three SuperLiga titles and two Serbian Cups with the Belgrade club.
He will replace Vladan Milojevic on Red Star's bench, and the game against Mladost Lucani (kick off is Saturday 15:30) will be Milojevic's last in this stint.
It's interesting to note that Milojevic was succeeded by Dejan Stankovic the previous time he left the club.
Now, the new-old coach should report for duty immediately after the New Year holiday, as the start of preparations for the second half of the season is scheduled for January 3.
On January 22 and 29, Red Star will play against with Malmo and Celta in the Europa League.
As for the Serbian SuperLiga, ahead of the last matchday of the fall part of the championship Red Star sits in second place, four points behind Partizan FC, while the club will play the Serbian Cup quarterfinals in February.
