Presidents Vucic and Pellegrini meet and agreed on how to proceed with military-technical cooperation!
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday addressed the public after meeting with President of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini about Serbia's path toward EU membership, and about the continuation of military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
"Discussing various topics, we agreed on how to continue military-technical cooperation and cooperation between our defense industries. Slovakia is very strong in this regard. Serbia is not weak. I'm always careful when it is comes to praising something of ours, but I believe that we really have good results in that area. We agreed on ways of cooperation," Vucic said during a joint press conference with Pellegrini, who is on an official two-day visit to Serbia.
Vucic added that they also discussed cooperation on energy issues and the engagement of several Slovak companies in the renewable energy sector in our country.
"But we especially talked about how to learn a lot from Slovakia and how to educate people. Apart from those in Vinca (nuclear institute), we do not have enough educated people in the nuclear energy sector, which is certainly the future, because without it we will not have enough electricity," said Vucic.
He stressed that there is no need to talk much about the love Serbians feel for Slovakia, and how close Serbian and Slovak people are.
"Here in Serbia we perceive Slovaks as sisters and brothers, and that is how we have treated each other and we will always treat each other like that. We are in talks today, and we will continue tonight, in another place tomorrow, all day long we will talk about all important aspects in our relations, our cooperation. About our bilateral relations, about the further progress of economic relations, about specific topics, about the position of the Slovak minority in Serbia and we'll look at how we can do many more good things," said Vucic.
Peter Pellegrini pointed out that for Slovakia, Serbia is the most important country in the region when it comes to trade, and that he will always be happy to help Serbia. He also invited Vucic to visit Slovakia.
"Relations between Slovakia and Serbia are extremely good, based on respect and trust. I appreciate Vucic's pragmatic approach during our conversations. We went through each point of our cooperation in a sincere manner and in some we have already achieved significant results," the Slovak president said.
"I am very glad that the president supported the implementation of all projects. For Slovakia, Serbia is the most important economic partner in the region," said Pellegrini.
