Minister of Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said yesterday that the Serbian state is proud that the citizens did not feel any adverse consequences because NIS (Petroleum Inductry of Serbia) has been under US sanctions for 94 days (before crude oil was once again allowed to be supplied to Serbia under an extended license).

The minister also stressed that there are have been no shortages of fuel at gas stations in Serbia, nor will there be any.

"The state has stocks of all oil derivatives at its disposal, thanks to which it has ensured supply in challenging times, and therefore there should be no concern," she stated on Instagram.

Djedovic Handanovic reminded that the JANAF pipeline is again delivering crude oil to the Pancevo Refinery; that production will resume in a few days, while Euro Diesel and gasoline produced at the refinery will be on the market in less than two weeks.

The minister assessed that spreading panic is dangerous, and singled out leader of the Party of Justice and Freedom Dragan Djilas - now an opposition figure, in the past a top state official - as doing just that, when he was saying there would be no fuel in Serbia.

"I remind you that he and his party colleagues from the DS (at the time) sold, as it were, gave NIS away in 2008. Years later, he is spreading panic and misleading the public!," wrote the minister.

According to her, in contrast to "the parallel reality of Dragan Djilas", the truth is that from today JANAF is again delivering crude oil to the Pancevo Refinery and that production will begin in a few days.

"Until then, as until now, there will be no problems as far as the citizens are concerned, as they have been able to see for themselves during all these months," the minister concluded.
