Man steals and burns cars, passer-by prevents him from setting himself of fire: First photos from New Belgrade
A man has set fire to two cars in Block 70 in New Belgrade, and then tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire. Telegraf.rs has learned that this was all prompted by a family dispute.
Namely, the man took the keys to the cars belonging to extended family without their permission, crashed one into another, and then set them alight.
"He did it because of private disputes. He poured gasoline on the cars and set them on fire, and then wanted to pour gasoline on himself and set himself on fire. I barely managed to take the bucket away from him," the eyewitness who prevented the man from committing suicide has told Telegraf.rs.
According to eyewitnesses who were driving through Block 70, smoke could first be seen coming from the cars located right next to a bus stop, and they did not know if it had caught on fire by itself, but when they passed, sounds similar to explosions could be heard.
Firefighters and the police arrived at the scene. The fire on the cars was soon extinguished, and the man was arrested.
