Formal reception in Abu Dhabi: Serbian PM Djuro Macut sends important message
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Abu Dhabi organized a formal reception on the occasion of the upcoming Serbian Statehood Day (Sretenje) and Serbian Army Day.
Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut said that the Sretenje symbolizes freedom, statehood and Serbia's permanent commitment to peace, cooperation and progress and values that are still the foundation of Serbia's relations with partners around the world.
The reception was attended by numerous dignitaries, representatives of the authorities of the United Arab Emirates and Serbia, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of Serbian companies operating in the UAE.
Prime Minister Macut stressed that Serbia attaches special importance to relations with the United Arab Emirates, which are based on mutual respect, trust and strong cooperation in many areas, and that the further development of those relations is of mutual interest.
The prime minister thanked the Embassy of Serbia in Abu Dhabi for its dedicated work, as well as all the guests who attended the celebration of Serbia's Statehood Day.
Ambassador of Serbia to the United Arab Emirates Vladimir Maric, welcoming the guests, pointed out that he was especially glad to see a large number of our compatriots who have found their home in the United Arab Emirates.
The guest of honor at the reception was the president of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash. The reception was attended, among others, by UAE Minister of Justice Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment Amna Al Shamsi, Minister for Youth Affairs Sultan Al Neyadi, and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The reception was also attended by Serbian government ministers who are participating in the World Governments Summit in Dubai: Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Snezana Paunovic, the minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women, Tatjana Macura, as well as Minister of Education Dejan Vuk Stankovic.
