SNS leader Milos Vucevic: I expects to see Aleksandar Vucic as future Serbian prime minister
Ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader and presidential advisor Milos Vucevic said today, speaking about the upcoming parliamentary elections in Serbia, that he expects President Aleksandar Vucic will become Serbia's next prime minister.
"I can't say that I agree with all his moves all the time, but it turned out that he knows what he's doing. It shows who's a true statesman. It's not realistic for him to be less involved in politics, I believe that Aleksandar Vucic still has the energy and knowledge. It would be a great shame to let go of such capital that is him, he does not have the privilege of retiring or distancing himself. We expect him to become prime minister," said Vucevic.
He added that when the "blockaders" (anti-government protesters) accused their state of killing its own citizens, it turned out that President Vucic knew what he was doing.
"We used to have a different attitude, but I think that he assessed the developments well and made the right moves. Time has shown that they were well-measured and brought concrete results. I believe that the citizens see all this and will appreciate everything that has been done," Vucevic told TV Informer.
He reminded that local elections are approaching, and said he hoped that people will vote for "the program for the future."
Speaking about the trial of Culture Minister Nikola Selakovic, Vucevic said that the blockaders "prepared a reception for him like it's 1945."
"It's not enough that they bring you to court, the mob also has to lynch you, spit on you, belittle you. This shows the spirit of the blockader policy," stated Vucevic.
Vucic also believes that Selakovic will show that he is an honorable man and added that he has no doubt that the process has been rigged.
"Nevermind the political nonsense we did with driving Trump's investment out of Belgrade. And where is the political context? What kind of message is that? It's unbelievable what happens and that someone gives themselves the title of the winner because they drove away an investment. Don't forget that now that group has gone to Albania. We did a really great thing for Kosovo and Metohija," Vucevic said ironically.
Vucevic also commented on University of Belgrade Rector Vladan Djokic's stance, to say it would be good for Djokic to politically confront Vucic and for the citizens hear his opinions about the economy, investment in healthcare, education, and how to keep Kosovo and Metohija.
"It would be good to hear from Rector Djokic on those issues, because we hear Aleksandar Vucic every day. I would be over the moon for that 'duel' to happen, but I don't think it will. The blockaders have already started their internal purge. I can't wait for them to publish the (electoral) list, then you will see that there is neither youth nor knowledge there. They will not deal with political issues. If they were to speak about Kosovo and Metohija, you would see that they would recognize Kosovo, if they spoke openly, you would hear that the next day (after coming to power) they would impose sanctions against the Russian Federation. They are running away from all these topic, the topic is only to defeat Aleksandar Vucic," Vucevic said.
Speaking about tennis player Novak Djokovic, Vucevic stated that he is one of the best athletes of all time and that it is rude for anyone to deny that.
"Now someone supposed to pretend that Novak Djokovic doesn't exist? What kind of nonsense is that? They (anti-government forces) don't know what to do anymore. It's his decision who to support. No one will say that he is not a top athlete. They proceed from themselves. They would never support someone who is not politically aligned with them. I think that athletes should do everything to make the nation happy, but everyone who enters the political scene must know that they are becoming a politician, not a lawyer, actor, or mechanic," said Vucevic.
