President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met today in Belgrade with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Giorgos Gerapetritis, with whom he discussed further strengthening of relations between the two countries, the European perspective of the region, and preservation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

"A cordial and substantive conversation about further strengthening of relations between Serbia and Greece, the European perspective of the region, preservation of peace and stability in the Western Balkans, as well as the challenges we face in complex geopolitical circumstances," Vucic said in a post on Instagram.

He added that special attention during the talks was devoted to further improvement of cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, trade, investments and connecting the two countries, believing that there are great potentials for an even stronger strategic partnership between Serbia and Greece.

"I reiterated my gratitude to Greece for its continued support of Serbia's European path and understanding our country's positions when it comes to the most important state and national issues. We appreciate extremely  Greece's principled and consistent stance to respect international law, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia," Vucic pointed out.

The president concluded by saying that today's meeting was just a continuation of the good and open dialogue he had with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the summit in Tivat and yet more confirmation of a true friendship and traditionally close relations between Serbia and Greece.
