President Vucic meets with Georgian counterpart Kavelashvili in Tbilisi
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic met today with President of Georgia Mihail Kavelashvili. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi.
Previously, Vucic, who is on a three-day visit to Georgia, was given a formal welcome with military honors, a red carpet and the sounding of the anthems of the two countries.
The last time the two presidents met was last December in Belgrade, when President Kavelashvili paid his first official visit to Serbia. At that time, President Vucic said that the two countries have very close relations, while Kavelashvili said he hoped that the relationship will continue to develop and that the two countries will become even closer.
This year, Serbia and Georgia mark the 31st year since the establishment of diplomatic relations, which are traditionally friendly, based on religious, cultural and historical closeness, with mutual respect for each state's territorial integrity.
Earlier today, Vucic arrived in Tbilisi accompanied by his wife Tamara Vucic, and was met at the airport by Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The Serbian delegation led by President Vucic includes Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic and Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade Jagoda Lazarevic.
