Aleksandar Vulin in Jerusalem: Serbs and Jews share history of suffering and friendship
Aleksandar Vulin met today in Jerusalem with the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rishon LeZion Rabbi David Yosef, with whom he discussed historical ties and relations between Serbian and Jewish peoples.
During the conversation the interlocutors stressed that Serbs and Jews are connected by common historical suffering and the Second World War, which represents an indelible and permanent memory, but also a solid foundation for further strengthening and improvement of future relations between Serbia and Israel, based on sincere respect and trust.
Aleksandar Vulin conveyed the greetings from the Jewish community in Serbia, emphasizing the importance of friendly relations between the two nations. At the end of the meeting, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel handed Aleksandar Vulin one of his books, which are known and appreciated around the world.
On that occasion, the rabbi wrote a personal dedication to Vulin as a sign of respect and friendship. Vulin invited the rabbi to visit the Republic of Serbia, with the aim of continuing to strengthen cooperation and friendly ties.
