New wave of air defense technology to enter service in Serbia: Vucic announces systems stronger than Chinese
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that the Serbian Army will receive better and larger anti-aircraft and air defense (PVO) systems than the ones it already has.

During a tour of the works to build a new Serbian Army barracks in Priboj, Vucic, in response to a journalist's stating that Serbia already has the Chinese FK3 and HQ17 systems, said that "better and bigger systems than the ones we have are coming."
Vucic told reporters that the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army General Tiosav Jankovic is a Russian student, but that, in his professional role, he also "grew to love Chinese missiles."
General Jankovic reacted by saying that missile operators love air defense technology regardless of its origin and that it is important for it to be efficient and reliable.
"And this one is efficient and reliable. We look forward to the (new) missiles and expect them. If it happens, when it happens, we will be ready to accept that tech and to exploit it. Let's give it life and let it give it back to us through the ability to make our country more protected, better defended, and for the air defense to above all serve as a deterrent," Jankovic said.
