Aleksandar Vucic said during the weekend that it must be investigated how Alta Bank's license was revoked.

"And if you look at the current situation where there is no positive news, instead of dealing with how they are going to solve the problems of the citizens. They should call for a conversation as soon as possible, to see what caused it, what led to Alta Bank and all that happened," he said and added:

"Because it's very complicated, and it's very difficult for me to fully understand what it's about, and why maybe they didn't wait another 7 or 8 days, and why they were in a hurry. Especially since that is of great importance for the state and for a large number of people. It's not simple news. I assume that the people at the National Bank wanted to protect themselves and acted in accordance with the regulations, I have no doubt about that. But it's all a bit strange to me," he said.

Vucic also said he would have acted differently in their place.

"What worries me, and what I want to say to the citizens, what really worries me, is that these people are accountable to someone, and that someone is not the citizens of Serbia. Because I don't believe that they are that irresponsible. I don't believe that they are that irresponsible. Today, in their place, I would talk to everyone about how to solve the Alta Bank issue. You can talk, bring calm among people."
