Serbia's Foreign Ministry has responded to allegations circulating on social media, that alledge that official documents are being deliberately destroyed. This is the ministry's statement:

"The Ministry categorically rejects the false and malicious allegations about a deliberate destruction of official documentation.

Under all circumstances, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs safeguards official documentation responsibly and professionally, handling it exclusively in accordance with the law and internal regulations. The claims published on social media and reported by certain media outlets are completely untrue.

We strongly condemn the spread of this untruth, which misleads the public and damages the reputation of the Ministry and its employees.

At this time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is fully focused on ensuring an orderly handover of duties, in order to guarantee the continued functioning of vital state institutions and services."
