Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Tokyo tournament with ease - he had a slightly more involved training session against Lucas Pouille for an express 6-1, 6-2 victory!

Our best tennis player had a top, almost perfect, match. The rival simply had nothing to look for today against the the world's top player who demonstrated class in both sets.

In the fight for the final, Novak will play against the winner of the match between David Goffin and Hyong Chung.

It's surprising how easily our tennis player beat this rival that he previously played against in the semi-finals of the last Australian Open. That was the biggest Grand Slam success of the Frenchman's career, but obviously he was far from that level in Tokyo, where he was unable to find any rhythm.

The fact that he only managed to win two points together in the middle of the second set best illustrates how inferior he was today, without solutions, without energy, sluggish and lethargic against the atomic tennis of the Serb.

Nole won the first set in just 22 minutes, the second required just a little longer (29) as he allowed the rival to get a breath of air with a break for a 4-2.

However, Djokovic quickly responded and then finished the set in great style, without losing a point on his serve.

This was Novak's third win over Pouille in their three matches, all three played this year (Australian Open, Cincinnati, Tokyo).

Reilly Opelka and John Millman play the second semifinal match.
