Serbian Church patriarch's vicar is infected with coronavirus: Patriarch Irinej tested as well

On Sunday in the St. Sava Temple in Belgrade, the bishop served Orthodox Easter liturgy attended by a small number of believers

The Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), the vicar of Patriarch Irinej, is infected with coronavirus, Tanjug has been able to confirm from the Church circles.

According to Tanjug, Patriarch Irinej has also been tested for Covid-19 and his test came back negative.

According to some media sources, the bishop has been hospitalized at the Zemun Hospital, and a day before, as reported, more than 20 people employed by the Temple were tested as well.

The patriarch's vicar reportedly had all the symptoms of coronavirus and contacted the medical authorities himself.

On Sunday, this  bishop served liturgy in St. Sava's Temple, attended by a small number of believers who took communion on that day as well. (amid a 3-day 24/7 curfew imposed by Serbia's authorities).
