100 people in Nis party in a cafe in the middle of epidemic: Establishment shut down by inspectors

The City Headquarters for Emergency Situations of the City of Nis has banned the operation of the cafe Flo Corner in Kopitareva Street for a period seven days due to non-compliance with the measures to protect the population from the infectious disease Covid 19.

As stated in the order, which signed on Thursday by the head of the HQ, Mayor Darko Bulatovic, the communal police established that a party had been organized the previous night in this cafe, which was attended by 100 guests.

"A communal police patrol went to the scene on July 22 at around 10:15 pm, according to the police report, and found that none of the orders of the City Headquarters for Emergency Situations were respected in the Flo Corner cafe. In the garden of the 30-square-meter cafe, the communal police found an organized party with about 100 people who did not keep the prescribed distance. There were seven or eight people at each table, and the tables were so crowded that the distance between them was only 30 to 40 centimeters," said the explanation of the order.

The appeal filed against the order of the City HQ does not delay its execution, and the owner of the cafe will have to close the doors as soon as the decision is delivered.

There are currently 384 patients receiving treatment for coronavirus at the Nis Clinical Center, 18 of whom are ventilators, while three more died in the previous 24 hours.
