Lately, the citizens of Kraljevo have witnessed more and more electric scooters in the streets of their city, mainly where certain types of vehicle are prohibited in pedestrian zones, parts of town areas and squares where pedestrian movement exclusively is is allowed, writes GZS.

Bearing in mind that scooters move at a faster speed than pedestrians, pose a safety risk and can cause injuries, but also far greater consequences, the Traffic Inspection of the Department for Inspection Affairs and the Communal Police Department informed citizens that they will intensify checks of the implementation of the decision on technical regulation of traffic in the territory of the city of Kraljevo.

"We warn parents of minor children, relatives and other adults who, on behalf of minors, with personal documents, rent electric scooters, to do so on personal responsibility, bearing in mind that no safety and protection measures have been complied with concerning both persons operating scooters as well as casual passers-by and pedestrians," said the announcement.

In this regard, the Traffic Inspectorate and the Communal Police will in the future file misdemeanor charges against violators of the Decision on Technical Regulation of Traffic, with fines for individuals ranging from 5,000 to 75,000 dinars.
