The trial of "the Barber of Malca," Ninoslav Jovanovic, accused of abusing and kidnapping a girl, continued today in the Higher Court in Nis.

Jovanovic entered the court once again hidden from the eyes of the public.

It should be noted that at the previous hearing, neuropsychiatric experts were heard, considering that Ninoslav Jovanovic disputes their written findings and opinion which declared him sane, and thus responsible for abusing the child, for which he faces life in prison.

The trial is closed to the public in order to protect the interests of the minor, and as the mother of the victim revealed after leaving the courtroom, Jovanovic questioned experts that day.

"We only know he's sane. That he has been declared a sane person," the girl's mother, Aleksandra, told reporters.

She added that he asked to be granted all possible rights. Aleksandra said that she was not able to speak more, that she had heard half of what was being said (in the courtroom).

When asked what kind of a person does not even apologize, but is trying to avoid punishment, the victim's mother replied, "One without a soul."

As Telegraf.rs previously reported, Jovanovic admitted to the crime in court, but also claimed that he was mentally disturbed.

Arrest after 17-day search

He was arrested on January 5, at a cemetery in his home village of Malca, after a 17-day police search. It is suspected that he on December 20, in the village of Suvi Do, intercepted a girl on her way to school and abducted her. She was found after a 10-day search in the village of Pasjaca, in a weekend house.

Jovanovic was previously sentenced twice for rape to 10 and 12.5 years in prison, which he served.

Otherwise, M.K., whom he held captive for 10 days after the abduction, was found on December 29 in the village of Pasjaca as a result of a major police search. The girl's hair was cat and she was bruised. She was at the time taken to the Clinical Center in Nis for treatment.
