The tender for the introduction of the 5G network will be open and transparent, with respect of international standards, which includes the agreement from Washington, said Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

"I understand all the intrigues within some points of the Washington agreement, but our delegation did not have an easy task. President Aleksandar Vucic managed to keep the door open to all partners, without putting Serbia in an unenviable position to violate its norms," said Brnabic, answering questions from journalists during her visit to Huawei.

Brnabic stressed that our norms are open transparent procurement, where all our partners are respected.

"We are not interested in unreliable technologies either. But, what we will introduce, when it comes to 5G networks, must be international standards, which are respected everywhere in the world," stated Brnabic.

She said that the procurement, from which we are still far away, must be open, transparent and we must not discriminate against any partner.

"That is how it will be and that is not contrary to the agreement from Washington," the prime minister stressed.

She added that she also spoke about it with representatives of the Huawei company, and that both sides understood "absolutely the same way" the point in the agreement that says Serbia must have an open and transparent tender for partners, when the time comes for the 5G network.
