Situation in Montenegro is alarming: "Irresponsible behavior will have severe consequences"

The situation in Montenegro when it comes to the epidemic caused by coronavirus is alarming, Danijela Raonic, acting Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) said today.

"In recent days, we have all witnessed irresponsible behavior by a large number of citizens, but also those who should set an example with their professionalism. All this will have unforeseeable consequences, which we will face in the coming period," Raonic pointed out, KCCG announced.

She added that KCCG and the entire health system, despite the great pressure and the growing number of those infected, manages to respond to all challenges and provide adequate health service to every patient.

"However, if we all do not respect the necessary protection measures, the efforts of the healthcare system will be in vain. Therefore, I once again call on the entire population to behave responsibly, especially healthcare workers, who, in addition to serious and hard work, should at every opportunity, by absolutely respecting prescribed protection measures, be the first to set an example of adequate behavior and care for themselves and our health. We must not allow ourselves to pay the highest possible price, and that is loss of lives, due to inappropriate and irresponsible behavior," said Raonic.

The situation in Montenegro is expected to drastically worsen in the coming days, considering that it was noticed that epidemiological measures were not respected in Podgorica during the funeral of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral.
