It is known that Diego Armando Maradona visited Belgrade twice - the first time back in 1982, when he played against Red Star as a member of Barcelona, and the second time in 2005 when he shot scenes for a film about him with Emir Kusturica!

On that occasion, Maradona was a guest of the famous film director on one of Belgrade's raft restaurants, where the whole team relaxed with trumpeters and a "glass of good conversation."

In their company was the famous former Red Star striker Dusan Dule Savic who together with Maradona sang the cult Serbian patriotic song "March of King Peter's Guard" ("Marsirala Kralja Petra Garda").

Details from that time out were once revealed in the show "While Angels Sleep" which was hosted by Savic's wife Marina Rajevic Savic, when Kusturica was her guest.

Today, about 200 people accompanied Maradona, who passed away earlier in the week, to his resting place, among them his children and ex-wives.
