We have patients in very serious condition, some of whom are immediately admitted to intensive care units. In the last seven days, more than 40 patients admitted to Batajnica (Covid hospital) had to be transferred to intensive care units. The clinical picture in every peak of the disease seem to be more difficult and complicated - says Dr. Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic, the manager of the Covid hospital in Batajnica.

Young people in serious condition

"Look at Romania with a slightly higher number of new cases compared to us, but you must keep in mind that Romania is a much larger country than Serbia, roughly like the former Yugoslavia, which is why our data is of even greater concern.

Each category of our citizens is equally endangered, whether older or younger. Now there are almost no differences between the sexes, the disease is equally present in both women and men. The presence of comorbidities can certainly worsen the clinical picture.

Currently, we have a 21-year-old young man in the intensive care unit in a very difficult general condition," Dr. Adzic Vukicevic added, writes Blic.

No one can yet confirm when exactly we will return to normal life, but vaccination will help us fight off coronavirus in the foreseeable future.
