Officers of the Police Administration of Montenegro published a video of the arrest of an alleged criminal group, and as the Montenegrin media reported earlier today, Slobodan Kascelan, the alleged leader of the Kavac clan, was among those arrested.

The video of the arrest was posted on the Twitter account of the Police Administration of Montenegro, that also stated that several people have been arrested.

The alleged leader of the Kavac criminal clan, Slobodan Kascelan, was arrested during the night in Kotor.

A source has told Vijesti that he is suspected of allegedly organizing a criminal group that committed and planned several serious crimes, for which he could spend up to 40 years in prison.

According to that information, Kascelan and three alleged members of that group were arrested in Kotor, and another one in Pljevlja.

The Police Administration did not officially announce the details of the arrests last night. This morning, they said that the police were undertaking planned activities targeting criminal groups, that several people had been arrested and that activities were underway.

The CdM portal writes that the police told them unofficially that Krsto Maros, Milos Radonjic and Vladimir Vuckovic from Herceg Novi, as well as another person, had been arrested and detained after questioning.

Kascelan is marked in police records as one of the leaders of the Kavac clan. Apart from him, the police see Radoje Zvicer as the head of that clan, who has never been arrested in Montenegro in major police operations.

Kascelan was not detained as he was defending himself after being put on trial for loan sharking.
