Mural for late leader of Serbian branch of "Night Wolves": "We're saying goodbye to a great man"

Sasa Savic Svaba (44), the leader of the Serbian branch of the Russian motorcycle club "The Night Wolves" passed away as a result of a heart attack. Now a mural has been painted in the city of Nis, in his honor.

"We gathered together due to the recent unfortunate event, when Sasa Savic Svaba left us, so we decided to dedicate a mural to him in Milunka Savic Street, on the building number 2, with a friend of our association, academic painter Sava Misic," representatives of the Association of Labor Action Delijski Vis Nis have told Jugmedia.

As they added, in the most creative way, and according to their abilities, they are saying goodbye to the great man that Sasa was.

"On this occasion, we express our respect and condolences to his family and friends and evoke his role and significance to our entire society and culture," they said.

The club of motorcycle lovers "Night Wolf MG Serbia" which soon transformed into a branch of the Russian "Night Wolves" was founded in 2008. Savic explained the goals of this group.

"Our mission is to preserve the Serbian-Russian historical heritage, culture, religion, everything that connects us. Other than in Serbia, we have members in the Serb Republic (RS), Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. We are of different professions, from manual workers to doctors of science and academicians, but what we all have in common is patriotism and our love of Russia," said Savic, who worked as AMSS' coordinator of internal control for the south of Serbia.

Savic would proudly stress that he had been in the company of the Russian president six times, and that he was the holder of five Russian decorations, including one awarded by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Savic was, among other things, the holder of the Order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Order of Milos Obilic received from the Balkan Cossack Unit of Russia for his merits in spreading the Serbian-Russian friendship, the Vidovdan Cross of the Second Order awarded by the Combat Police Association for the humanitarian work benefiting our people in Kosovo and Metohija, and was also given a medal on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Georgian Cross.
