Greece is assuring us that it will not recognize so-called Kosovo, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said, and added that "big and important" consultations on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija will follow in the coming days.

When asked about speculation that France could take over the lead regarding the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Vucic told TV Pink:

"I will have conversations in the next few days. It's important for us to protect our national and state interests, we'll talk everything else in the coming days."

As he said, there will be big and important consultations in Belgrade, and then he expects the dialogue to continue in Brussels.

Asked about claims that France could propose an interim agreement under which the north of Kosovo and Metohija would gain autonomy, and the Serbian Orthodox Church a special status in exchange for Greece recognizing Kosovo and visa liberalization, he said:

"We can talk about that in the coming days. I would not speak in advance before we know something."

He added that there have been some changes in relations (between Athens and Pristina).

"I expect to see, since there have been some changes in relations, whether that's just a trade office or if there is a 'point of interest' between Pristina and Athens. We will see how it goes, and will inform the public," said Vucic.

Regarding speculations that Greece could recognize Kosovo, he said that this country is assuring us that it will not do that.

"They are assuring us that they will not recognize, and these things that we have seen are certainly not the best news for us. We will see, we will inform the public about it," said Vucic.
