"We'll protect national interests by fighting for compromise": Vucic on continuation of dialogue

Vucic said that difficult days are ahead of our country, but that he will invest a lot of energy in Brussels to, as on every occasion, protect state and national interests of Serbia

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on Friday thanked Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Botsan-Kharchenko for the new shipment of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccines delivered to Serbia, which have been immediately included in the vaccination process in our country.

Speaking about the planned continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Vucic said that difficult days are ahead of our country, but that he will invest a lot of energy in Brussels to protect state and national interests of Serbia, fighting for a compromise, the president's press office said.

Botsan-Kharchenko confirmed Russia's active support in defense of the norms of international law and, thus, the territorial integrity of Serbia.

The two interlocutors agreed that the policy of peace and cooperation is of the utmost importance for further development of the Western Balkans.

Vucic and Botsan-Kharchenko reviewed the progress of economic cooperation between Serbia and Russia and stressed that joint infrastructure projects, as well as projects in the field of energy are developing along the planned dynamic and will greatly contribute to our country's economic progress and quality of life.

Vucic and Botsan-Kharchenko also discussed upcoming bilateral contacts between the two countries' officials.
