The Ukrainian police has prevented an attempt to kidnap and murder of a Serbian citizen in the territory of Ukraine. His wife and her brother are suspected to be behind the planned crime. The police knew for a while what was being prepared, which is why they carried out a special operation at the start of June.

Namely, the Ukrainian media previously reported that in the evening of June 7, unknown persons had kidnapped a man in the Podolsk district of Ukraine.

As they said at the time, the victim was a foreign citizen.

On June 10, the press service of the Kiev police confirmed the information about the kidnapping for Obozrevatel and stressed that they were conducting an investigation.

The victim was allegedly a citizen of Serbia, M.R.

A video of the kidnapping, which you can watch at the top of the page, shows a man standing in the street as a vehicle stops behind him, from which three people jump out, grab him and force him inside.

However, that turned out to have been a secret operation staged by the Ukrainian police, which had known for a while that the actual kidnapping and murder of the Serbian citizen was being prepared.

It is suspected that the crime was planned by the victim's wife and her brother, because the Serbian businessman wanted to divorce her and deprive her of money, which is why she and her brother decided to "get rid" of him.

"In early June of this year, after the crime was ordered, Ukrainian police officers carried out a special operation - they simulated the kidnapping of the victim in the territory of Kiev in order to check further criminal intentions of the organizers, who were in Serbia at the time," the police said.

As we reported, after the woman found out that M.R. wanted a divorce, she started looking for a hitman who would do the dirty work. According to information from the investigation, M.R.'s wife gave a Ukrainian citizen who lived abroad the details about her husband and asked him to "arrange the job."

She said that her husband goes to Ukraine several times a year on business. She offered to pay the killer by giving him a 2-million euro apartment in Moscow.

The plan was for the killer to first kidnap M.R. and then force him to sign papers prepared in advance, after which he was to be killed. After the murder, the wife was supposed to inherit property worth 6 million euros.

Fortunately, the Ukrainian police found out that a hit was being prepared and they immediately started an investigation in order to close the circle and arrest everyone involved in this crime.
