Good news for travelers to Austria: Entire Western Balkans on the green list starting July 8

All the countries of the Western Balkans will be on Austria's epidemiological green list starting on Thursday.

As announced in Vienna, a decree to that effect enters into force on Thursday, July 8, when citizens from all Western Balkan countries will be able to enter Austria.

Until now, only Serbia and North Macedonia, as well as Albania, were on the green list, which now also includes Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and so-called Kosovo.

Travelers coming from green list countries will be able to enter Austria without quarantine if they have a vaccination certificate, have had Covid, or have been inoculated with vaccines recognized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) - Pfizer, Moderna, Astra Zeneca and Johnson & Johnson, and by the World Health Organization (WHO) - China's Sinopharm or Sinovac.

Russian Sputnik V is not accepted by the Austrian authorities.

Those who do not have a vaccination certificate must have a certificate that they had Covid, a negative PCR or an antigen test.

Passengers coming from countries on the green list do not have to fill out an electronic registration form before the trip.

With the new decree, Russia considered to be among the countries where a new strain of coronavirus is spreading, which is why everyone coming to Austria after staying in that country will have to quarantine.

Other countries that this rule applies to are Great Britain, Brazil, India, and South Africa.
